Update on the first maya lip sync

Just thought I would update this one. Still working my way through it. One thing about being animator is that you always find things that could be stronger than it is already. You must find room for improvement in all your work. After all you should never stop learning. Any comments or suggestions I'm all ears.

First maya lip sync

Well thought I would try my hand at a lip sync in maya. I know its quite the jump from a bouncing ball, lol. Anyway there are a few tweaks left on this one ( the turn around may be to extreme , mostly timing stuff. His right hand when he is in the up position pops and falls off the arc a bit. Also his left hand in the final poses needs some work too ). The idea is the blue guy has just broken something and the blake rig is pissed off about it but I didn't want to waste time animating the bg character. Overall its definitely a learning curve on this one, but its starting to get there. I will post a new version in the next few days I'm sure. Any comments would be awesome.

3 D Basics

Just a minor tweak on the last video.



Well thought I would try my hand at some 3d. Andrew Doll and myself are getting together each week to learn the unfamiliar world of Maya. Well holy smokes what a HUGE program.

We started with the basics obviously, and there is some problems in there I'm aware, but its a stepping stone in the right direction. We will be starting some character animation soon, and it's amazing how much there is to learn.

Friend of mine liked how my own characature turned out. He asked me to do one of him for his facebook profile picture.I would like to thank Mike Gause and Augusto Kapronczai for their critique to help me polish this one off. I don't know, I'm starting to really like coloring, lol. Comments are welcome.
